We have the luxury of a second trip report for November.
Thanks, Jo, and also for Ash for the meal pics.

On the Saturday, Mark, Henry, Row, Lou and Jo did the east ridge scramble of Moel Siabod, gracefully avoiding the ‘bog of doom’ thanks to Clare and Pete’s advice to go north around Llyn y Foel. No views were seen but plenty of rocky scrambles in the clag and an obligatory snowball fight on the summit were had, followed by a descent along the NE shoulder back to the café for a welcome hot drink.

The joint meal in the evening was much enjoyed, with the SMC, MAM, Worcester MC members and two other guests who would have had to wait for hours to get into the kitchen so we invited them to join us too.

On the Sunday, Andrew, Helen and Jo opted for Creigiau Gleision (678m and a Welsh 100 tick!) despite the poor weather forecast as Helen had booked a day on the hill and was up for a walk come what may (and it did!)

From Capel car park we picked our way up through the now fully re-wetted bog and up to the cloudy, windy and chilly summit. We continued along the ridge with the odd glimpse of the Llyn Cowlyd Reservoir and over the second summit (3rd pic) before the rain finally found us. We headed back to Capel through a soaked valley, through a forest into a gem of a  hidden valley (with Llyn Crafnant Reservoir just visible), up and through the pass near Crimpiau (4th pic) and across the perched, marshy valley of Nant y Geuallt.

Alas the Pinnacle Café is no more so we dripped dry in Joe Brown’s gear shop, wringing out wet socks back at the car before leaving Phil to find Helen (and possibly lots of new shiny gear – or did she resist!?)
